History of Bacoban®
Disinfectants have been vital for the protection of human beings for thousands of years. In the early days people would use products such as vinegar. More recent years, people moved to the use of bleach or (sodium hypochlorite).
More recently, iodine, hydrogen peroxide and even alcohol have been used to disinfect surfaces. Though, none of these disinfectants allow for long-term protection. That is to say, that they are only disinfected at the point of cleaning. Within moments, a freshly wiped surface is free to be re-colonised again by pathogens and the spread of infection continues.
That’s why Bacoban® was created. Bacoban® is a disinfectant which combines initial sterilisation cleaning, with long term protection that prevents pathogens from re-colonising surfaces.
Bacoban® is a patented surface disinfectant which uses completely new technology.
Known for its semi-permanent nano scale layer of SiO2. It is sometimes referred to as liquid glass. As it uses anti pathogen agents, which are slowly released on the cleaned surface.
This process lasts up to 10 days, giving long-term protection.
Bacoban® is effective against pathogens such as; Hepatitis, Influenza, HIV, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, as well as bacteria. With 10-day protection, this prevents the risk of infection spreading on surfaces, between periods of cleaning. This makes infection control so much easier and offers greater protection over longer periods.
Bacoban® also reduces odours caused by harmful bacteria. Bacoban® is a medical device product, as it is VAH-listed, and CE certified as class 2A.
It has also been tested by renowned institutions. During testing, the long term anti-bacterial effect was confirmed but also, testing demonstrated that Bacoban reduces the time required to clean surfaces, by approximately 50%.
